RAYMONDVILLE – A $2 million project to improve the roadways in Raymondville will soon be underway.

Thirty streets will be improved throughout the city with the funds.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke with the city’s mayor about the project.

“It'll be in two phases. Phase one will start in the middle of November. Hopefully, by January we'll start on phase two,” says Raymondville Mayor Gilbert Gonzales.

Gonzales explains the city had to pay off a loan from a project that took place 15 years ago before starting on another project.

Completion is expected by summer of next year.
