2 Sisters Charged with Aggravated Kidnapping

EDINBURG – Two women have been charged in an aggravated kidnapping that took place over the weekend.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's deputies arrested 32-year-old Cynthia Alvarez and 35-year-old Natalia Alvarez after they allegedly forced a man, believed to be Cynthia’s ex-boyfriend, into a vehicle, beat him and later dumped him at an unknown location.

The incident happened Sunday around 9:45 p.m. on Carol Street in rural Mission.

Officials say the victim was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators collected surveillance footage and other evidence that led them to the arrests of the two sisters.

They were each given a bond set at $30,000.

The investigation is ongoing with more arrests expected to follow.
