2-Vehicle Crash in Alamo Leaves 20-Year-Old Woman Dead

ALAMO – The Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash. It happened at 6 a.m. at the intersection of Nolana/Earling and Alamo roads.

Authorities say a red Ford pickup, occupied by one female driver only, was traveling southbound on Alamo Road. A silver Cadillac passenger car occupied by a female driver only was traveling east on Earling Road when she attempted to turn north onto Alamo Road. Both vehicles collided at the intersection. 

The driver of the Ford was transported to McAllen Medical with injuries. Alysha Renee Alvarez, 20, a resident of San Juan sustained major injuries and died at the scene. 

State troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
