Alamo Family Escapes to Safe Haven from Storm, Returns to Demolished Home
ALAMO – A 22-year-old woman lost her mother’s home to the storm’s wrath.
Lesly Hernandez lived in a mobile in Alamo with her mom for 12 years. Her mother passed away last year.
Monday’s strong winds and heavy rainfall sent the back door flying and the ceiling to the entire home flew off.
Hernandez rushed her children to her neighbor’s home across the street and later was picked up by her uncle.
She returned the following morning.
“We saw it and we still couldn't believe it. We couldn't believe that we were going through that and it broke my heart even more when my baby said ‘mom's house broke’ cause this was her mom's house," said Hernandez.
The home was completely demolished.
