Authorities Search for Hit-and-Run Driver Involving 9-Year-Old Victim
PALMVIEW – The search continues for an accused hit-and-run driver in a white-Sedan.
The 9-year-old victim underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.
KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro explains the impact the incident had on parents and other school district employees.
The location where the child was hit is the same area once labeled as “hazardous” by the La Joya School District.
Child counselor Dr. Yolanda Hill explains the changes children may go through after an incident like this.
“Nightmares, they might not be able to sleep well, maybe their appetite. There may be times that they don't want to eat. Of course, just crossing a street is going to be difficult," she says.
There were 20 other students on the bus during the incident and all of them will receive counseling.
