Authorities Seeking People Responsible for Illegal Dump Site
EDINBURG – People are illegally dumping near a site on the side of an Edinburg road; constables are reaching out to the community to find who’s to blame.
One of the residents in the area, Dania Lopez, says she tries to clean as much as she can, but it becomes overwhelming.
“Every time I head out for school I see it all. I think they dump it at night; there's always trash there,” she says.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to Deputy Constable Hector Garcia for Hidalgo County Precinct 4.
Garcia says the road in question, East Wisconsin Road, is known for illegal dumping.
He tells us he needs more people to be on the lookout and urges people to report on these cases.
“If they can get us some type of photo with their cell-phone or a license plate to identify the vehicle then report that to us and we will take action after that,” says Garcia.
