Bioluminescence Visible at SPI for a Few Days

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The surf at South Padre Island might have a glow to it the next couple of days.

KRGV’s Chief Meteorologist Tim Smith explains this glow is called Bioluminescence.

This phenomenon is created by small plankton and algae.
