BROWNSVILLE - Cameron County officials announced the following temporary closures:

• County Beach Access #3
• County Beach Access #4
• County Beach Access #5
• County Beach Access #6
• Boca Chica Beach

According to a press release, these beaches are "temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic due to extremely high tides and undriveable conditions." County officials advise everyone to be cautious when visiting beaches.

Tropical Storm Cindy isn't heading for the Rio Grande Valley, but there are indirect effects from the storm. A high surf advisory is in effect for coastal Cameron and coastal Willacy counties until 7 p.m.

Some minor coastal flooding is possible. The rip current risk will remain high, so swimming at the beach is not advised.
