HIDALGO – An Edinburg teenager was arrested as he crossed back into the U.S. at the Hidalgo International Bridge on Friday.

Federal officers took him into custody after a biometric verification confirmed he was wanted by Edinburg Police Department.

The teen is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl back in February.

The 17-year-old is now in custody of Edinburg police.

He’s expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
