EDINBURG – On Wednesday, a shake up took place at Edinburg City Hall.

Multiple officials were fired and judgeships eliminated. Five of six board members were replaced on the economic development board.

All the changes happened within two hours of the appointment of a new councilmember, David White.

Those changes included the removal of Ludivina Leal as city secretary. She was previously arrested on one count of illegal voting.

The appointments include Councilmember Homer Jasso as mayor pro tempore and the removal of temporary municipal court judge positions.

The board also terminated the city manager and moved to appoint Richard Hinojosa, who was previously the city manager, as interim.
