Convicted Ex-Border Agent Now Charged with Making Threat at Hearing

WESLACO – A former Border Patrol agent convicted of helping to move drugs is now facing more charges.

Daniel Polanco is now accused of threatening to assault a federal agent.

Court records allege the threat was made at a hearing to request a new trial and acquittal.

Polanco was out on bond awaiting sentencing, but is now behind bars.

A bond hearing on his new charges is set for next week.
