EDINBURG – Fire crews quickly extinguished a fire at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg on Thursday.

Images sent to our newsroom show a plume of smoke over the top part of the building, which is located along I-69.

Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS workers were welding in the area when the insulation caught fire.

The flames caused minimal damages.
