Gov. Greg Abbott visits Edinburg

Gov. Greg Abbott visited the city of Edinburg on Wednesday. 

The governor picked up tamales from Delia's before he visited with service members at the  South Texas International Airport in Edinburg. 

Members from the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard lined up to receive a special meal courtesy of Gov. Abbott for their work along the border as part of Operation Lone Star.

"Never has the challenge been as enormous, as complicated and challenging as it has been this time," Abbott said. "It takes your manpower. It takes your tools. It takes your commitment. It takes your equipment. All of that to ensure that we will be able to adequately secure the border."
