HARLINGEN – A man in Harlingen was arrested for shooting a gun into the air on July 4.

Police say one of their police officers allegedly saw Arturo Cruz discharge the firearm when they responded to a call on South J Street about illegal use of fireworks. 

Cruz was also found in possession of marijuana during booking.

The 46-year-old was fined over $300 for shooting the gun.
