HARLINGEN – A fly infestation is taking over a Harlingen school.

Students at Cano Freshman Academy tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS they have been dealing with, what appears to be, millions of house flies scattered across buildings since Monday.

Cameron County health officials say the infestation is due to the dumping of agricultural material at a nearby location.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro looked into the issue and learned this is not the first time they have dealt with this issue.
