Investigation Underway after Impostor Steals $1,500 from Edinburg Hotel
EDINBURG – A Rio Grande Valley hotel is the center of an investigation after an impostor tricked them out of $1,500.
The staff at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Edinburg says they’ve received several prank calls over the last two weeks.
The general manager tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they requested a package that included security cameras.
“They needed $1,500. And if they didn't have the money, the owners would have to pay $9,000 for it,” says general manager Velma Ramos.
KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro explains how it happened.
