Man Accused of Healthcare Provider Murder Sentenced to 86 Years in Prison
EDINBURG - A man found guilty of killing his mom's home healthcare provider was sentenced on Thursday.
Juan Manuel Hernandez will spend 86 years behind bars for the 2017 murder of Maria Alisa Garza.
He was found guilty back in August.
Garza's body was discovered at an apartment in McAllen in October of 2017.
Hernandez says he found her body, but claimed in court he thought she was still alive and didn't report her death until a day later.
