McAllen Student Brings Pistol Clip to School, Facing Consequences
MCALLEN – A student at Alonzo De León Middle School is facing disciplinary action after bringing a "pistol clip" to school.
Officials at McAllen Independent School District say the student was caught showing the pistol clip to several students.
No threat was made toward the campus or to anyone at the school.
The student’s parents were contacted and the student will face appropriate consequences.
The school principal sent this message to parents:
Dear Parent,
I wanted to make certain you were aware of an incident involving one of our students. A male student brought a pistol clip (no weapon) to school and showed it to several students. No threat was made toward the campus or to anyone. It was immediately confiscated. Bringing materials like this to school violates the Student Code of Conduct. The student’s parents have been contacted and the student will face appropriate consequences.

The district tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS this incident happened earlier this week and is not related to the student who was arrested Friday.
