RAYMONDVILLE – Raymondville ISD has come up with a method to reach out to parents and students in emergency situations.

The change is in response from the school district after a student brought in a BB gun to school last week.

Raymondville ISD superintendent Stetson Roane said schools will send mass text, email and make phone calls to parents.

The district will also have alerts on its website.

Last week, parents rushed to pick up their children at Raymondville High School after a social media video showed a student holding a weapon in class.
