HIDALGO – Some people are braving the cold temperatures to cross at ports of entry.

Fewer people than normal were seen crossing the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge by foot due to the weather conditions on Tuesday.

Less people crossing meant shorter wait times.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says to avoid a long wait, avoid the peak crossing times, which is between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Despite the weather, several were still seen selling items, asking for money or waiting due to immigration documents.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing reports from the border with the details.
