The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros football team will host a free open practice and youth clinic in Brownsville in August.

The Vaqueros will take the field at Sams Memorial Stadium on Aug. 6. Practice starts at 3:30 p.m., and the youth clinic follows at 5:15 p.m.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m., and no tickets are required.

The 30-minute clinic gives young athletes the chance to learn from current UTRGV football players and coaches. Participants will rotate through skill stations focused on football fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. All skill levels are welcome.
