Valley Shelters Welcoming Harvey Evacuees

WESLACO – Thousands of families are seeking food and shelter in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS found out several shelters in the Rio Grande Valley have already seen some of those families at their locations.

Casa De Esperanza in Rio Grande City said they’ve assisted more than a dozen families through their food pantry.

Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, and Loaves and Fishes are amongst those offering aid.

They encourage anyone needing a place to stay or a meal to head to their facilities.
