Woman Arrested in Failed Drug Smuggling Attempt
BROWNSVILLE – A U.S. citizen was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle over $200,000 worth of methamphetamine.
The bust happened Tuesday at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge when a Nissan Maxima was referred for secondary inspection.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered 13 pounds of alleged meth.
The 35-year-old driver was taken into custody and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
