MCALLEN – A woman is recovering after she was shot by a man who broke into her house Monday morning.

The attempted robbery happened just before 6:30 a.m. at a home along the 2300 block of Lindberg. It’s located in south McAllen.

During the alleged robbery attempt, police said a woman in the house was shot. She was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police said they are looking for a young Hispanic male possibly 18 to 20 years old.
