Man charged in rural Mission murder investigation
The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office arrested another suspect in connection with a murder investigation in rural Mission.
Ricardo Mata, 31, was arrested by Hidalgo County deputies on Sunday and charged with murder and attempted capital murder, according to a news release from HCSO.
Bond was set at $200,000.
Mata and 21-year-old Jose Victora Jr, are accused of gunning down 21-year-old Leonardo Veliz at a Stripes gas station last month.
Authorities are still looking for 27-year-old Obed Peña in connection with the shooting.
