UTRGV's Armani Raygoza becomes first ever back-to-back SLC Player of the Year

UTRGV's Armani Raygoza has been named Southland Conference Player of the Year for the second straight year.
Raygoza led the conference with 17 home runs this season. He also tallied 49 RBI with a .307 batting average.
"Definitely blessed to have the opportunity to just be part of that. I didn't even know I was close to getting that until Coach Matlock had a conversation with us on the bus and I'm just super blessed and thankful," Raygoza said.
Last season, Raygoza tallied 17 home runs with a .387 batting average and 60 RBI. The redshirt junior is the first player in Southland Conference history to take home the award in back-to-back seasons.
