PORT ISABEL--One person was killed in a fire in Port Isabel.

According to Port Isabel fire marshal John Sandoval, the fire broke out at a trailer home around 2 a.m. on Bridge and Railroad.

An adult male was killed and the trailer was a complete loss. No one else was in the home

The cause of the fire, as well as the man's death, is under investigation. The victim was identified as 54-year-old John Schartel.
