2 People Hit by Stray Bullets in Starr Co.

RIO GRANDE CITY – Two incidents of stray bullets causing harm over the New Year’s Eve weekend were reported in Starr County.

The Starr County Sheriff’s Office said at least two people were hit by bullets.

A 21-year-old woman was in her house near Alto Bonito when she was hit. She reported hearing a loud noise and then felt her shoulder burn.

The bullet fell to the floor.

On New Year’s Day, a 38-year-old man was hit in the calf outside his home.

His wife drove him to the Starr County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
