Agents Stop Drug Smuggling Attempt in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE – Border Patrol agents near Brownsville stopped a large amount of marijuana from entering the country.

Agents working near the Rio Grande spotted a truck Friday afternoon floating across the river. As agents approached the vehicle, the driver drove the truck back into the river.

People on the Mexican side of the river began removing bundles from the submerged truck.

Agents said they spotted a total of 44 bundles being taken back into Mexico.
