Body Found in Man-Made Pond in Weslaco Identified

UPDATE (8/28): Investigators have identified the body that was found in a man-made pond in Weslaco.

The man is identified as 49-year-old Jose Raul Aldana. 

Authorities say his family identified him through a tattoo and clothing description.

The case remains an ongoing investigation.

NEAR WESLACO – Authorities are trying to identify a body found in a man-made pond north of Weslaco. 

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s spokesperson Jena Pacheco says investigators were called to an abandoned property near Sugarcane Drive and Midway Road. around 6 p.m. on Monday.

We’re told a boat crew was called in to help with the investigation.
