EDINBURG – Authorities say a Border Patrol agent was forced to shoot his K-9 partner following an attack.

The dog attacked the agent at his home in Edinburg, according to authorities.

The dog ran away after the incident but was later found.

Both the agent and the dog are being treated. The incident is under investigation.
