Border Patrol Agents Rescue Infant after Raft Deflates near Roma

ROMA – A six-month-old child was rescued from drowning near the Roma area, according to a Border Patrol press release.

The Salvadoran boy was in a raft deflating as a group attempted to cross the river.

The mother and child went underwater.

Agents pulled them out.

The child was no longer breathing, but first aid was rendered until the child recovered his ability to breathe.

Both he and his mother were taken to the Mission Regional Hospital in Mission to receive treatment and be evaluated.

Border Patrol reports both will be processed after they are released from the hospital.
