BROWNSVILLE –District officials are considering a readjustment of their boundaries.
Brownsville Independent School District voted to start moving with a plan that includes either exchanging or collapsing neighboring school district boundaries.
Brownsville Superintendent Esperanza Zendejas says stretching Brownsville ISD’s limits would allow them to match the city limits, which would affect Port Isabel ISD and Los Fresnos ISD.
Los Fresnos ISD unanimously voted to object to Brownsville ISD’s attempt to take away any property.
A town hall meeting is set for Jan. 9 at Manzano Middle School at 6:00 p.m. to hear feedback from the community on boundary adjustments.
