Certification in Cardiac Care Awarded to 3 STHS ER Locations
WESLACO – A medical group recognized three South Texas Health System ER locations.
The American College of Cardiology awarded STHS ER facilities in Weslaco, Mission and on Monte Cristo Road in Edinburg with the Freestanding ED Cardiac Care Certificate.
The facilities were awarded based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing an urgent heart problem and need access to emergency care closer to home.
STHS ER says freestanding emergency departments that are chest pain certified are held to higher standards of care and service for patients experiencing cardiac related symptoms.
The recognized emergency departments are accessible 24/7 to residents looking to receive quality medical care with shorter wait times.
The facilities in Alamo, McAllen and on McColl Road in Edinburg are now striving for the same certification.
