A new DHR Health facility will provide hospital level hospice care to Valley patients.

DHR Health opened a hospice center off of Trenton and McColl roads Thursday.

The center is the only facility south of Houston that will provide hospital level hospice care for patients.

"We always want to bring the best and most cutting edge type of care,” DHR Health Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director Dr. James Castillo said. “In terms of end-of-life care, this is it. This is gonna be the highest level of hospice care that's available for our patients.”

The facility is able to house 13 patients.
