EDINBURG - Edinburg police are investigating new leads that the city recently received for the family of a woman shot to death six years ago.

Jolissa Rangel was shot to death inside her Edinburg apartment six years ago.

Liza Zuniga says they have opened a cold case unit to revisit the 4 cold cases Edinburg Police has.

“We are currently investigating new leads that the city received recently and so we are trying to work on that and cross reference that we were provided,” says Zuniga.

She didn't provide any additional details on the new leads.

Edinburg police and the family urge people to submit any information to the department.

Zuniga says anything you think might not be worthy, could actually mean a lot in an investigation.
