MCALLEN – The FBI executed several operations across the state targeting an engineering firm.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew was present as the FBI raided the McAllen offices of Dannenbaum Engineering.

Agents took servers and multiple boxes filled with files out of the office building.

Joel Androphy, the company’s attorney, said the scene is related to an ongoing federal grand jury investigation.

“Company management is investigating the basis of the government requests. We are uncertain whether the inquiry is focused on company activities or those of its business competitors,” he said.

In addition to the McAllen Office, agents gathered evidence from Dannenbaum’s home office in Houston and from other locations in San Antonio and Laredo.

Meanwhile, the agency also raided Laredo city hall and dismissed employees from their duties.

“Although it’s embarrassing, we welcome the investigation. At least my office welcomes the investigation. We want to get to the truth,” Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz said.

FBI spokesperson Michelle Lee said no arrests have been made.

Lee abstained from commenting further since the investigation is ongoing.
