MCALLEN – The latest farm bill allows cannabidiol products (CBD) to be considered legal.

The number of stores selling CBD products is increasing here in the Rio Grande Valley.

People claim it can help with diabetes, epilepsy and cancer. Valley doctors say they need to be careful with such products.

KRGV’s Christian Colón spoke with a general manager who not only sells the product but also uses it.

“Of course it depends on what you are taking. If you are taking a heavy medication you should consult with your doctor first. To be in the clear, I don't want you to assume that we are going to cure. I cannot say that,” explains Flavio Padron.

CBD isn’t for everyone as some people could have an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the product.
