MERCEDES – The driver accused in a deadly hit-and-run in Mercedes was found to have multiple convictions of driving while intoxicated.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS learned some offenders are still on the road even after their third DWI.

The Hidalgo County district attorney tells us steps are being taken to prevent another death from happening.
