Hidalgo ISD Student Charged for Making Terroristic Threats

HIDALGO - A Hidalgo early college high school student was charged for making terroristic threats at school grounds.

The student was booked into the Hidalgo Police Department on Jan. 25. He was charged with a terroristic threat that caused fear of imminent severe bodily injury.

School officials have not offered details on who the student threatened. They said no one was hurt.

Hidalgo ISD Superintendent Edward Blaha posted the following statement in their website in regards to the incident:

“It has come to the district’s attention of a possible threat made by a student. District and campus administration along with the Hidalgo police department have fully investigated this report and the appropriate action has been taken by law enforcement. Rest assured that all rumors and reports regarding student safety are taken seriously and are acted upon immediately. Your child’s safety is of the outmost importance to our district and community.”

The student was given a bond of $3,000.
