LA ROSITA – The Starr County Sheriff's Office confirmed human remains were found in the La Rosita community Wednesday night.

Deputies say residents called authorities after finding the remains on North Conquistador Road. 

Lt. Erasmo Rios told CHANNEL 5 NEWS a majority of the body was decomposed.

There was no identification on the remains; they are being taken to Laredo to be examined.
