HIDALGO –Residents are concerned about border security and funding after the partial government shutdown continues.

After President Donald Trump spoke about the need for upgraded border security, residents are raising differing opinions.

“I'm not a true believer in the wall but I am a true believer in national security, and that is a problem. We all know this,” says McAllen resident Jim Ryan.

There are also those who are rooting for the construction of a border wall and are hopeful the government shutdown will come to a conclusion.
