HARGILL – A man was formally charged months after a crash claimed the lives of two Pharr sisters.

The fatal collision happened in January on FM 490 East of Hargill.

Court records allege Michael Paul Escobedo was speeding during unfavorable weather conditions and failed to stay in the lane he was traveling.

Escobedo allegedly went into oncoming traffic and hit a vehicle head-on.

Maricela Reyes, 40, and Maribel Reyes, 30, were killed.
