A man was found dead after a vehicle fire spread to a home in Donna on Saturday.

The fire occurred in the 1200 block of South 18th Street.

Authorities confirmed to Channel 5 News the man was 37 years old, and no foul play is suspected.

Donna Fire Chief David Simmons said the fire was reported at around 5:30 p.m., when fire crews arrived they found an SUV engulfed in flames.

The vehicle was parked underneath a carport, and the fire spread to the victim's home and a neighbor's home as well, according to Simmons.

Simmons said firefighters searched the home twice after neighbors said a man was inside, but firefighters were unable to locate him. The victim was found underneath the carport, about six feet away from the SUV.

The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal and the Donna Police Department are helping with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
