MISSION - Graduates, current students and parents joined together at a rally Saturday. 

The group wants more transparency in an alleged hazing incident involving Sharyland Independent School District students. The incident happened late 2019 during an athletic event in Corpus Christi.

With nearly 50 people attending, their voices united with the same message. 

"I just think it's important for the students to know that when things are happening that are unfair or against the law that they have a voice and they need to speak up," Linda Medley said. 

Medley is a parent and Corpus Christi area teacher, she said she made the trip to the Valley to support her niece and nephew who are students at S.I.S.D.

Rally co-organizer Dante Flores DeMarchi is a alumni of S.I.S.D. 

He said the idea for the protest came after seeing public uproar at a Sharyland school board meeting in January. 

DeMarchi said the goal of the event Saturday is to raise awareness, he says "we want to educate these students that what happened was not a joke and that it was actually terrible."

Those in attendance said they hope officials involved in the alleged hazing incident investigation listen to what they had to say Saturday. 

Request for specific information by CHANNEL 5 NEWS have been denied. 

Sharyland school administration and Corpus Christi Police cite student privacy concerns.
