McAllen Hospital Now Testing for 3 Most Common Date Rape Drugs
MCALLEN – A Rio Grande Valley hospital is now testing for three common date rape drugs.
Before, when a hospital performed a routine date rape drug panel, it tested for basic narcotics – not including the three common drugs used into used in sexual assaults: Rohypnol, GHB or ketamine.
But that’s changing.
McAllen Medical Center is one of three hospitals in the Valley running a sexual assault examination program.
The testing will only be available for patients who were sexually assaulted and if the doctor deems the testing suitable.
