MISSION – The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said one of two men linked to a double homicide remains on the run.

Hidalgo County investigators are searching for Alberto Ocanas, who’s believed to have fled to Mexico.

Ocanas and Ramon Aguilar Jr. were accused of gunning down two people at a home on December 2015.

Investigators said the suspects were trying to steal drugs from one of the victims. Deputies found firearms, cash and more than 400 pounds of marijuana inside the house.

Aguilar pleaded guilty Tuesday and is expected to be sentenced later this year.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alberto Ocanas can call the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers at 956-668-8477.
