WESLACO – The Department of State Health says vibrio is floating around in higher concentrations in the Gulf.

Officials are warning those who have cuts, scrapes, blisters, or a new tattoo to avoid getting in the water.

Those who come in contact with the bacteria could fall ill.

The agency also warns raw seafood could also have the same effects.
