WESLACO – City and county leaders say they’re working on long-term and short-term solutions to the flooding issues that plague residents.

Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Commissioner David Fuentes says crews continue to clear out blocked drainage ditches and fix broken lines in Weslaco.

He adds a cost-saving proposal in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation is also in the works.

KRGV’s Taylor Winkel also has more on a bond set for the November ballot that seeks to generate millions to repair drainage systems.
