ALAMO – Alamo police say the driver of a cement mixer caused a rollover after failing to control his speed.

The westbound lanes of Expressway 83 briefly shut down Monday morning following the accident. The driver was sent to the hospital for minor injuries.

Truck driving instructors tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS preventing such accidents are a matter of controlling speed and keeping a safe distance.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas reached out to the cement company. They say the driver did, indeed, lose control of the truck.

From now on, they plan to move forward from the accident.
